ways to entertain yourself in quarantine: what to do when stuck at home! 🍰

ways to entertain yourself in quarantine: what to do when stuck at home! 🍰

ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ̀ˋ hi guys! it’s me alexi / alex, and today i’ll be talking about ways to entertain yourself in quarantine! sorry for not uploading anything yesterday, but hopefully the two posts i’ve posted today ( including this one! ) make up for it.

without further ado, let’s get on with the post! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

✧・゚*₊˚ one: do some cleaning / organizing! quarantine is the perfect time to be productive and do all the things that you procrastinated on while there was still school / work. maybe clean your room, organize your desk, or straighten out your closet! of course, if you don’t have the energy or motivation to be productive, that’s perfectly alright — it happens to everyone! start with simple things, like making your bed, folding your blankets, or even just sweeping the floor. then, slowly progress to bigger things! ٩( ‘ω’ )و

but don’t forget to take your time ( you have lots of it! ) and don’t stress yourself out! ( ⸝⸝•ᴗ•⸝⸝ )੭⁾⁾

・゚*₊˚ two: self-care! self-care doesn’t have to be big and extravagant, not like the morning routine of a famous beauty blogger, or the self-care regime of that instagram influencer who always seems to have everything together ( she doesn’t! ). things like staying hydratedeating healthy foodor even napping are good for you and your mental health — you can even play video games, or binge-watch a movie / tv show! ( netflix, hulu and other streaming services are 👌🏻)

but if you want to be extra, go for it! do that 10-step skincare routine you normally don’t have time for! take that fancy bubble bath with bath-bombs, and lots of rose petals and candles! do what you want!

the point is, take care of yourself! self-care, in my opinion, is anything that helps your well-being as a whole. at the end of the day, it’s about taking care of yourself! ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈♡)

✧・゚*₊˚ three: learn something new! there’s a ton of resources on the internet that can help you learn nearly everything, from a new language, to coding, to even computer science! for learning a new language, apps like duolingo and drops are great — just ignore all the duolingo memes ∗˚(* ˃̤൬˂̤ *)˚∗ code.org is great for learning how to code, and khan academy is just great for learning about anything and everything!  ( *ˊᵕˋ)

✧・゚*₊˚ four: spend time with your family! if you’re quarantined with your family like me, enjoy the opportunity to spend more time together! simple things, like watching a movie / television show together or playing a game of monopoly, help you bond while in quarantine — this time is really special, since you have more time to focus on your relationships and give them the time they deserve! ( how many times have i said time? approximately 5 times — no 6 now )

though don’t forget to set boundaries — if your parents are working or your sibling is studying, please don’t disturb them! ♡

what’s on my ipad pro + essential apps i can’t live without 🕊

what’s on my ipad pro + essential apps i can’t live without 🕊

ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ̀ˋ hi guys! it’s me, alexi / alex! welcome back to yet another blog post, and welcome if you’re new! today in this short post, we’ll be talking about without what’s on my ipad pro! further ado, let’s get on with the post! (。・ω・。) ✧・゚*₊˚

ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

✧・゚*₊˚ my ipad is the space-grey 11” ipad pro 2018, a christmas present from my parents, which i use for art and schoolwork. i use it alongside the apple pencil! here’s my ipad home screen:

i kept it as neat as i could! ( ˘∀˘ )

for the dock, i put all of the apps except for safari into one folder named “apps.🌷”, and put the folder and safari onto it! i did the same with my other ipad, which is the one i use for games. ( ^ω^ )

✧・゚*₊˚ also, the wallpaper is a very simple pink and grey wallpaper, and i found it from a korean youtuber named ella. it was originally for phones, but i rotated it so that it would fit my ipad, and edited it a bit! if you’d like to use the wallpaper, you can find it here! (*’ω’*)

✧・゚*₊˚  here’s a small collage i did of the “apps” folder, just showing you what’s inside:

i made this collage with procreate! (^∇^)

✧・゚*₊˚ i kept basically all the stock apps that already came preinstalled with my ipad, and only downloaded a handful apps — i wanted more space for artwork and not for apps  ¯\_( ˘ω˘ )_/¯

all of the apps i did download are my favorites, and i use most of them them almost everyday; they’re essential apps i can’t live without! all of them are free, except for procreate. i’ll list them here:

✧・゚*₊˚ one: autodesk sketchbook! this is a really great free drawing app with lots of features. there’s no in-app purchases and it’s a really great app — there’s even an option where you can access copic colors! i used this until i got my other drawing app, procreate.

IMG_9741.jpeg

✧・゚*₊ two: paper by wetransfer! this is also a really great free drawing app, and i use this much more often than i use autodesk sketchbook. it’s really minimalistic, which i love.

it also has a “paper store”, where you can buy journals like tutorials, planners, art challenges and exercises, etc. while some of them are free, most of them are paid. to pay, you need credits, which you can only purchase with real money . ( ´∀`)

i rlly love this app because of it’s “journal” format, which you can change if desired. multiple tools are available, along with a wide color palette, and you can even add text notes and pictures! (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

IMG_9742.jpeg

( though the app is free, a subscription called “paper pro” is available — this lets you unlock pro tools. i personally don’t use paper pro. )

✧・゚*₊ three: procreate! this is my most favorite app out of all of them — it’s specially made just for the ipad pro! it has literally hundreds of beautiful brushes — and in case you’re not happy with those, you can design your own in procreate brush studio, import custom procreate brushes from the internet, and even import adobe® photoshop® brushes! you can even animate! ٩( ‘ω’ )و

IMG_9744.jpeg

✧・゚*₊˚ four: clips! clips is an amazing video editor by apple. they have the cutest posters and stickers ( some of them are even from pixar and disney !!!), live title captions that automatically generate as you speak, creative filters, multiple 360° environments named “selfie scenes”, and even animoji / memoji if your device is compatible! they even have catchy music, and you can also import your own songs from garageband.

the only downside is that you can only make videos in square format, not in landscape or portrait. :;(∩´﹏`∩);:

ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ̀ˋ and that’s it for this blog post! sorry that it’s a bit short, i’ll have another post coming up later to make up for the lack of content yesterday. if you haven’t done so already and would like to see more posts like this, follow this blog via email using the widget available, or via your wordpress account!have a nice day/night, don’t forget to wash your hands, and bye! 🌷

what’s in my pouch: everyday essentials! 💌

what’s in my pouch: everyday essentials! 💌

ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ̀ˋ hi guys! it’s me, luiGi — jsjsjsj no, just me alexi / alex! welcome back to another blog post, and welcome if you’re new! today in this short post, we’ll be talking about what’s in my pouch! i’ll just be talking about my everyday essentials. without further ado, let’s get on with the post! (。・ω・。) ✧・゚*₊˚

ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

✧・゚*₊˚ i have this cute little pouch filled with my everyday essentials. it’s a purple prada pouch ( unintentional alliteration HAHAH :> ),, and holds stuff like lipbalm, a pocket mirror, a comb, etc; just necessary quarantingz. i always take it with me wherever i go, even in quarantine! 💌

here’s a photo of it

edited using procreate, full credits to me / @alexipaints ! ✧・゚*₊˚

✧・゚*₊˚ here’s a photo of everything that’s inside it ; i labeled each of them with a number ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

full credits to me / @alexipaints ! ✧・゚*₊˚

✧・゚*₊˚ number one: my lip-balms! i have four favorite lip-balms that i carry with me in my pouch: the burt’s bees honey, all-weather spf 15, and vanilla bean ones; most of them are from hong kong. though, my favorite one out of all of them is the glossier birthday balm dotcom. it’s super smooth ( if not slightly sticky ) on your lips, and leaves a sparkling glitter on your lips after it’s applied! (`・ω・´)

✧・゚*₊˚ number two: my compact mirror! my mirror is a pretty, shiny rose-gold customized mirror, engraved with my name, “alexandra”. it’s a gift from my mom, and it’s really helpful for fixing how you look / applying makeup as well! ( ´ ▽ ` )

✧・゚*₊˚ number three: my mommypatch lavender and anti-mosquito balms! these are super-helpful, and i carry them literally everywhere. the lavender balm helps soothe insect bites, cuts, scrapes, etc, and can also work to lessen pimples! additionally, the anti-mosquito balm has a special scent that deters mosquitos, protecting you from mosquitos and the deadly diseases carried by them!

they both smell super good, and if you want your own, the founder’s instagram is @mommypatch. she’s super kind too! \( ˘ω˘ )/༉‧₊˚✧

✧・゚*₊˚ number four: my two combs! the pastel coral-pink customized comb has “alex ♥︎” written on it in gold cursive, and was a gift from my friend cassy back in grade 5. the beige-colored comb is from page 148 ( a beautiful boutique hotel in hong kong ). they‘re always in my pouch, because i have very fluffy wavy hair, and it tends to poof up easily and make me look like a lion. ෆ

✧・゚*₊˚ number five: my bath and body works sweet pea pocketbac! i carry this everywhere. though i prefer the mommypatch little contessa hand sanitizer, mine’s all finished, so i’m currently using this glittery b&bw one from my mom. it smells really good, and it gives me peace of mind knowing my hands are squeaky clean. („• ֊ •„)

✧・゚*₊˚ number six: my inhaler and my nasonex! the inhaler is self-explanatory, and the nasonex is prescribed, and is for whenever i have colds. ༄

✧・゚*₊˚ number seven: my rosary! i’m roman catholic, so it’s nice having my rosary with me at all times. ·ᴗ·

ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ̀ˋ and that’s it for this blog post! sorry if this post is too short, i didn’t want to pack it full with information and give you guys an information overload. if you haven’t done so already and would like to see more posts like this, follow this blog via email using the widget available, or via your wordpress account! have a nice day/night, don’t forget to wash your hands, and bye! 🌷

how to stop phone addiction in 2020: how to turn your phone from addictive to productive! ☏

how to stop phone addiction in 2020: how to turn your phone from addictive to productive! ☏

✧・゚*₊˚ hey guys! it’s me alexi / alex, and today i’ll be talking about how to curb phone addiction in 2020; and how to turn your phone from addictive to productive!

✧・゚*₊˚ today, phones can be very addicting, what with tiktok, youtube, netflix, instagram, and other addicting sites and apps. however, the more time we spend on our phones, the less time we spend in the real world, and the less time we spend being productive. remember, “time is an expense you can only spend once” — use it carefully!

✧・゚*₊˚ so, without further ado, here’s the list of ways you can help stop being so addicted to your phone! ( these tips also apply to gadgets like laptops / tablets / computers! )

ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

✧・゚*₊˚ one: turn off as MANY push-notifications as possible! ok, so this may seem difficult for perfectionists and people who love to be in control of every aspect in their life, but let’s be honest here: you don’t need to know every single like or retweet that your latest tweet gets, or how many people have liked your most recent instagram picture.

a simple way to help reduce distractions and focus on tasks is to turn off notifications for unnecessary apps! i only activate notifications for my texting apps, calendar, and my email. that way, you can focus on studying! (*´꒳`*)

✧・゚*₊˚ two: turn on grayscale! in my experience, this tip is very successful at keeping off addictive games and social media! though, you might need to turn it off every once in a while to take photos, use maps, etc. though, the dark shades make colorful applications look less appealing! (。・ω・。)

✧・゚*₊˚ three: use an app to track your progress and stay productive! apps like forest (99.00 philippine pesos on apple, free for android) and flipd (free, in-app purchases available) help you stay responsible for how much time you spend on your phone.

fun and modern checklists like productive – habit tracker (free, in-app purchases available), and ticktick: remember to do lists (free, in-app purchases available) assist you in remembering your daily tasks!

my personal favorite is habitica: gamified taskmanager (free, in-app purchases available), because it offers both apps and websites, and “makes it simple to have fun while accomplishing goals.” you get to have your very own adorable avatar, battle monsters, and level up while accomplishing tasks!

additionally, if you have an iphone / ipad, an option called “screen time” is available, and it helps schedule downtime ( time away from your iphone ), set app limits ( time limits for apps ), assign communication limits ( limit who you contact ), and add content restrictions ( this helps you block inappropriate content )! ٩( ‘ω’ )و

✧・゚*₊˚ four: remove distracting apps entirely! keep the apps that promote productivity, learning and eduction ( with a few games here and there, live a little of course! ), and remove time-wasting apps entirely, like social media. you could even delete apps like instagram or twitter, and use your phone’s web browser to use social media instead.

✧・゚*₊˚ that’s in for this blog post! if you haven’t done so already and would like to see more posts like this, follow this blog via email using the widget available, or via your wordpress account! have a nice day/night, bye! 🌷✧・゚*₊˚
